Hey Christian, as Vladimir mentioned in the post above unless anything unexpected happens, vCD v10 will be supported when v10 RTMs. At the moment there is no set date for RTM.

Hi folks,

vCloud Director 10 was released September 25 2019, and with Veeam's "90 day" new release support policy, that would indicate vCD10 support would have been available by December 24th 2019 - that was almost two weeks ago as I write this.

Veeam 10 doesn't look like it's likely to be released until at least February.

We're currently sitting on a number of VMware bugs that are fixed in vCD10 - their official resolution for those bugs is "Upgrade to v10". Unfortunately, while Veeam doesn't support vCD10 that's not possible, so we have to choose between functioning backups and user-visible vCD-breaking core functionality bugs.

If Veeam could provide some assurance around a support timeframe for vCloud 10 that would go a long way to reassuring our management about Veeam's future in our deployment, and that of our clients.

Thanks!

Hello,

I can confirm vCloud Director 10 support is included in Veeam v10, which should be shipped in the next few weeks. I cannot provide the exact date simply because we don't ship new releases until we're confident that it's ready for production use. But the good news is that we're now in the RC stage already.

The changes in vCloud Director 10 were quite significant (as you would expect from a major release) while we provide deeper vCD integration than most vendors, so vCD 10 support could not have been delivered as a patch. And unfortunately, there was no release vehicle available between vCD v10 release and Veeam v10 release. Сall it "bad timing" of vCD release, as usually we ship update releases every 3-4 months, which it did not make sense in light of the upcoming v10. Also, overlapping festive season did not help at all, as across dev centers geographies it makes us loose a few weeks due to public holidays and attached vacations.

Thanks!

Please also update the v10 documentation to avoid "panic mode"(the DRAFT v10 user guide is updated to vCloud 9.7 version)! :D

I worked on the ultimate source of the System Requirements last couple of days (the Release Notes document), and it is correct there. This will be propagated everywhere else. Thanks for heads up!

vCD 10.1 just got released last week, seems to only be minor GUI redesign and fixes in it.

Release notes here:

There is also a new VM parameter, as far as I can see.

We haven't yet tested this build, so, are not ready to tell right now whether it brings any breaking changes or not.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks!

Hi good people,
Any updates/ideas/plans on when the vCD 10.1 will be supported, I am aware that 10.0.0.4461 P2 currently goes up to vCD v10.0 only?

vCD 10.1.2 is currently not compatible because of a VMware bug and we wait until a fix is available (VMware send a URL instead of A GUID in a GUID field)
vCD 10.2 will be supported with v11.

Want to double check Veeam 11 - P20210507 compatibility with VMware Cloud Director version 10.2.1 - we need to upgrade it from 10.1.1 to 10.2.1.
Has Veeam 11 been directly tested and certified with that version of cloud director?
Are there other large Veeam customers successfully running with 10.2.1.

We have a large cloud director/veeam environment (5000+ VM's)
Encountered disruptive backup issues following a past Cloud Director upgrade so doing some extra checks this round.
Anyone in community successfully running above combo (or with CD 10.2.2)?

Patch versions like the 10.2.1 are always automatically supported with the exception of 10.1.2 where there is a bug on the VMware side in an API that list a URL in a ID field instead of the ID.
