Hello,
We have a vCloud setup with Veeam backing up customer VM's. There's no netwerk connection to the vCloud VDC's/VM's.
When customers restore a file or folder thru the Enterprise portal, or with FLR restores done thru the management interface, VIX is used. We experience very poor restore performance. I know VIX isn't fast, but 105KB in 15 minutes is terrible. Because of this slowness we are getting troubles with our SLA/RTO. We could however use other methods like mounting the disk to the vCloud VM, or another copy method, but we like to give our vCloud customers a self service portal without complicated restore procedures.
Are there ways to speed up VIX, could there be a VIX performance bug in VMware/Veeam? Veeam 9 improvements?
Secondly, when cancalling an FLR VIX job, it takes 2 hours for Veeam to cancel the restore job.
Kind Regards,
Bastiaan

Re: vCloud FLR restore slow
Bastiaan, described behavior looks unexpected, so I'd open a case.
