Veeam 11 - CDP - SureReplica - Application Group
Hi Guys,
I’m just testing the CDP on v11 and have a requirement for isolated testing. This can be done via Sure Replica, but I require Application Group for manual verification.
Can this be done (application groups) for CDP replication jobs?
Thanks
Matt

Hello,
SureReplica is only available for classic replication in V11 (not for CDP).
Best regards,
Hannes

Hi Hanes,
You can explain how we now test the CDP Replicas in isolation?
Thanks
Matt

I see two options:
1) do a failover (that interrupts CDP)
2) wait until we implement that feature (I cannot give any estimation yet)

Re: Veeam 11 - CDP - SureReplica - Application Group
The situation a customer requires would be using a VPLS and L2. So a failover would be similar to a VCC partial failover and thus interrupt production. That’s why we’d require isolation...
I tried using network mapping to another network but it didn’t seem to actually change the target replica. Shouldn’t it overwrite it on the next job run with a network mapping?

EDIT: the change of the network happens only during failover. Before that, you will still see the initially configured network in VCenter (that's different than in classic replication)
