Hello, everyone,
many thanks for the quick inclusion in this forum.
We currently have a very old version of Veeam in use (6.5).
Is it possible to update from this version to the latest version 9.5U4b? According to the release notes it is probably only possible from version 8.0 on.
What would be the correct procedure to update to the latest version?
Is the old 8.0 version still available for download?
The free version of Veeam would be enough for me (Community Edition)
The Community Edition must back up 7 VMs and run on a Windows Server 2012 without R2.
Is there a hardware compatibility list?
Thank you in advance
Patrick

Re: Veeam 6.5 an d Vsphere 5.1
Hi Patrick,
Welcome to Veeam Community Forums and thanks for posting!
You'll require to update to v8 first, then proceed with the next upgrades, or perform a clean installation from scratch.
Community Edition is enough for protecting the scope you mentioned and can be run on top of Windows Server 2012. As usual, the system requirements can be found in the user guide.
Hope it helps, cheers!

Re: Veeam 6.5 an d Vsphere 5.1
Thank you very much for the info,
I have decided through the many upgrade steps to a reinstall.
What I notice is that when I open Veeam, it takes an extremely long time, can I still change something?
Otherwise, the backup ran smoothly last night.
Yours sincerely
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
How much time does it take for the console to load after you press the connect button?
Thanks
