Veeam 8 cannot add vcloud director
API Url is correct, credentials are correct but every-time I try to add vcloud director server I'm getting error that server is not available. Any ideas? I have a case open as well.

And I guess you've already checked that the connection outside Veeam from the very same VM to vCloud server is successfull?

Error message: Failed to connect to vcloud Director server. vCloud director server is not accessible.
From the same server where Veeam is installed I can log in to vCloud director server portal. I also have connection to vCloud server from my on premise vCenter server.
I also followed Veeam docs and tried IP instead of API URL. Then I was getting error message that user name or password is incorrect.
Vmware support claims this is something with Veeam...

Thanks for the update! From the top of my head – have you used the default port like described in the article or by any chance you are using non-default configuration?
