Re: Veeam 8 possible CBT affecting issues

Post by davidsain »

Big red threat that I must include my support case IT to post a reply, so I opened a ticket for my resolved case...Case #02061003

Experienced the same but with 9.0.0.1715.
19 objects in the job. Error message varied on each guest server (object) with one of the four listed:
  • Agent failed to process method DataTransfer.SyncDisk
Agent failed to process method DataTransfer.BackupText
    Error: Transmission pipeline hanged
Aborting process and Getting VM info from vSphere Error: Socket has been forcibly closed. Failed to recover connection.
Environment
  • EMC DataDomain DD620
    VMware ESXi/vCenter 5.5
Backing up to NFS target (NFS to an intermediate Linux server which has DD620 NFS mounted).
Read through the various solutions, I thought I'd try the easy one first. Changed the TCP Checksum Offload (IPv4) on my Veeam server and on Windows proxy and problem appears resolved.

Being a non-profit, We is too poe to baa production support, so it'll be days and days before support gets back to me. One time it was a week for a backup that was continually failing. Great stuff.

Few other environment things
Virtual Veeam servers connected to virtual ESXi switch.
Physical servers connected to Nexus via 2x 10GB Cisco CNAs.
Nexus connected to EMC SAN via 4x 8GB FC
DD620 connected to Nexus via 1GBE.
And
CBT is enabled.
