Veeam and Cloud Director Multisite

Post by zmatuszyk »

Hello, we are looking for a replication solution where we will run Cloud Director in the Multisite version, i.e. 2 instances connected to each other - "seeing each other". In this configuration, can Veeam replicate between these Cloud Directors? Do we need to run two different Veeam instances for each Cloud Director or can there be only one? I will be grateful for the information

Hello Zenon

I don't expect any issue. A single backup server can manage replication jobs from two vCD server.
But I have asked my colleagues from QA if there are any known caveats for multi-site deployments.
I will give you an update when I have the information.

Hi Zenon

All works fine. Make sure you run the latest version of v12 or v12.1.
There was a known issue with the vCD plugin for multisite deployments in the first v12 builds.
But it was fixed in the most recent v12 patch (12.0.0.1420 P20230718) and v12.1.

You need to add both vCD server to the backup server to protect objects from both vCD environments.
