We have a requirement to isolate several Windows VMs from Veeam at the Guest network level. But we still need Application Aware Processing and full functionality of Veeam Guest restore options.
I've been reviewing the options available and it seems VIX or its replacement of "vSphere API for guest interaction" is the primary option. But it seems to have many limitations such as requiring disabling of UAC or using Built-In Administrator which present a challenge in relation to security. Also I've seen many post of speed issues and difficulty in restoring application aware items.
I'm just posting to see if anything else is possible, or on the horizon. Getting some real world experience of someone doing this would be great.
Thanks in advance..

Re: Veeam and Guest Network Isolation
Hello,
Your option would be to either use VIX or guest interaction proxy, that would allow you to "isolate" backup server from the processed VM. Did you have a chance to review this component?
Thank you!

The Guest Interaction Proxy looks interesting. I'll investigate that.
Thanks for the info
