Veeam and VMWare 5.5.0

Post by jorgene »

Hi,

I'm pretty new with VMware. Only worked with Veeam and Hyper-V before.

Now we have a new Customer with VMware VCenter 5.5.0 (Build: 2183111).
ESXi hosts are 5.5.0, 2143827.

Now, are the above versions affected by this nasty CBT issues that exists?
Do i dare use CBT on the above version or should they be patched before i start Schedule backup jobs with CBT enabled?
If they need to be patched can someone provide me with a link to the stable build i should use?

The Version is affected by the CBT bug. You should patch the environment and reset CBT for all VMs.
vSphere 5.5 will go End off general support this year, so I would upgrade to 6.0 or 6.5.

Ok, Thx for the Info.

If going from 5.5.0, what is the recommended most stable VMware version to jump into? 6.0 or 6.5?
