Veeam B&R 12.0.1420?
Newbie here so be gentle
We have the above version for Veeam Data Platform we upgraded to Advanced so we can get Veeam One among other things.
We currently have the veeam server on a Vmware host (Windows 2016 server) with 6.7 and vCenter 6.7 we are going to upgrade to 7.0
My question is how do we upgrade to the advanced ?
Do we need to upgrade vmware to 7.0 first ?
Thanks in advance

It's very easy
1. Install the new license file into Veeam Backup & Replication.
2. Install Veeam ONE for many additional capabilities that Advanced edition brings.
You can upgrade your vSphere deployment at any time before or after, this is completely perpendicular.
Thanks

Gostev,
Thanks so much I figured it was something simple you google this and get thousand different ways to do it.
I went into Veeam License information and installed the new one we got.
I see it now in the our account portal I need to download the Veeam Data Platform Advance and install it that will update my current veeam 12.0 software and such correct?
Then download Veeam one?
So there is no issue with Veeam 12.1 upgrade and vmware 6.7?
Thanks again

Hey Gostev we are going to be putting our backups on a new Synology NAS I am going to configure iSCI I saw this post and they mentioned a news letter you wrote about issue with NAS can you provide the link for that sir
veeam-backup-replication-f2/synology-na ... 77177.html
Also do you recommend configuring it with iSCI since veeam veeam has access to the file system. And you can leverage FastClone if you mount it to a Windows 2016 or above and format the iscsi LUN with refs we have VBR Advanced 12.1 we are getting Synology RS822+ 4 4TB Drives is this a good device for what we want to do?
what would be the best raid to do the above ?
Thanks again

The best would be enterprise-grade RAID controller with battery-backed RAID cache, which Synology and other low-end NAS sadly don't use, opting for software RAID and resulting in continuous data loss cases in Support... particularly with ReFS where volumes become unmountable following the loss of critical metadata.
As always, Veeam recommends general-purpose servers with enterprise-grade RAID controller.

Well due to budget constraints this was all for now can we still use it?
And if so what would be the best configs for it to make a Veeam repository?
"Veeam recommends general-purpose servers with enterprise-grade RAID controller." Do you have a link of the recommended ones ?
Thanks again

Sure, as long as you're willing to take data loss risks, knowing they are significant with this type of backup storage.
In particular, this means not trusting your storage fully and making sure you have copies of your backups elsewhere!
No specific recommendations on RAID controllers except BBWC presence.
