Hello Veeam,

why does it take several seconds now to shutdown Veeam Backup&Replication GUI recently? Is this a new behavior in 12.x and is this related to a more complex product?

Same behavior in different Windows OS systems and different hardware (physical and virtual).

Anyone else noticed this?

What kind of delay are we talking? I've had 5 sec delay on closing sometimes, but nothing beyond that on any of the consoles I manage.

Well, it takes around 7 seconds, when the GUI has been open for a longer time. If you launch the GUI, look around a little bit and close the GUI again, it closes very fast. Strange

I chime in just to say my personal experience with the new Veeam B&R 12.1.2.172 (I noticed this behaviour also with the previous 12.1.1.52 too): from pressing the Connect pushbutton (the logon window appears immediately) to having the GUI dashboard fully loaded and ready for operations I wait - on average - up to 20 seconds. After the GUI dashboard was left runing few minutes (doing nothing) pressing the Exit menu item, from Exit pressed to the GUI dashboard full closure I wait - on average - from 4 up to 11 seconds depending on how long the GUI dashboard was left open or was more o less used (on the contrary, the GUI dashboard "closure wait time" lasts nearly zero seconds, or it is fairly immediate, only when it is opened and then, immediately after that, it is suddenly closed without any other particular interaction than exiting it).

Forget to say: the underlying DB is PostgreSQL 15.7, the Microsoft .Net and ASP components are updated to 6.0.32 and the VM sizing is 8 vCPU with 32GB vRAM (underlying ESXi datastore are hosted on IBM Flash storage, thus quite fast), to say that I'm quite confident that, as happened on the old Veeam B&R 11 months ago, the new Veeam B&R 12.1 is running on (a Microsoft Windows Server 2022) Guest OS fitted with appropriate resources for its duty.

+1 . When I close VBR 12 (the past few builds) either clicking X or selecting the hamburger menu and quit, it paused sometimes for up to 10 seconds before the application window closes
