Veeam B&R install domain-joined OR non-domain-joined server?

What is the best practise to install the Veeam B&R on server? Can I install on non-domain-joined server? Are there any security risk?

we use domain joined for ease of management but the repos use individual local users with domain accounts removed apart from a select group of admins.

Non domain for us. SO much easier in a disaster, or if your DC's get hosed. You'll need local accounts anyways.

Plus no domain credentials to get compromised to log into Veeam and mess around.
