Veeam Backup and Replication Simple Setup

Post by Linmon »

Hi All,

I need to design a simple VMware farm, there will be a Production and DR site, and I plan to set up Veeam at the DR site, in the event the production site failed, I could perform failover from Veeam at the DR site. While doing replication I will have a backup job running as well, I plan to use Synology as a primary repository, and put it in the production site, while the secondary repository is inside the Veeam server itself on the DR side, the Veeam server will be a physical server.

Will the above diagram meet the criteria?

Hi Muhamad and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!

At first glance, your diagram seems to be fully correct. However, the remote replica from backup remains out of sight quite often and I believe you should consider this approach as well: a replication job will use backup files on the Production site as a data source instead of interacting with the production system, thus you minimize the load on production environment.

Thanks!
