Veeam backup leaving snapshots behind (VCenter6)
Hi,
I hope somebody can help me?
I’m a new reseller working with a new customer. I recently installed a new setup of Veeam backup (most recent version) and what has happened is as follows
The Vmware hosts are vcenter6 . Some virtual machines are Hardware version 10 others 11.
The backups with version 10 running fine. The backups with version 11 left all the delta-snapshots behind. How can this happen?
Kind regards,
Peter

Peter, do you see any related vCenter server events or messages in the backup jobs session logs? Have you contacted support already?

Hi,
yes, the error from vmware is: cannot take snapshot: general error.
I don't have any information on support. Do you have any contact info for me?

Hi Peter,
You have to login at https://my.veeam.com (either with your personal account or, recommended, with the customers account).
On the left hand side you click on "Open a case". Provide all necessary information and collect the logs as stated in the VM KB: https://www.veeam.com/kb1832.
If you openend the case please provide us here in the forums your case number, so that our Veeam gurus also can have a look at it.

Are you able to take a snapshot of the affected VMs manually?

Since there are some snapshot leftovers, please initiate a consolidation task and then try to follow foggy's advice. BTW, what are the names of these snapshots?
