Hi,
We have Veeam backup server as a VM running on VMware vsphere with local backup repositories (D and E Drive makes one Scale out Repo).
Now we are planning to migrate this VM on a physical server with all backup stored on that VM.
Here are steps that I have planned.
1. On existing backup server - Create a new Backup repository pointing to new physical server
2. Add that backup repo to the scale out repository
3. Evacuate backups from local repos on VM to newly added backup repository
4. Remove old backup repository extents (D and E local drives)
5. Take configuration backup
6. On new physical server - Veeam B&R installation
7. Configuration backup migaration
Am I missing anything? Or these steps will help me achieve my task? please suggest any better alternative possible way.
Thanks,
Parth

Hi Parth and welcome to the community!
The plan is looking good!
I'd expect these steps to achieve your goal without issues.

Hi Parth,
The only thing that I want to add is that you need to put your Scale-out Repositories to the Maintenance mode, before adding new extent. For the reference, please follow the link.
If you have any questions left, let me know.
BR,
Alex

Re: Veeam backup server migration with backup repository
Thanks DGrinev and Alex for your valuable replies.
And Yes, Alex I had that thought in mind because evacuation can only be done when a repo is under maintenance mode.
Thanks again for your help guys, appreciated.
Best Regards,
Parth

Re: Veeam backup server migration with backup repository
After that you would probably want to get rid of the scale-out repository and switch the new extent back to a normal repository and, finally, re-point all existing jobs to it - for that you would need to rescan the new repository and edit the jobs to map them to existing backup files.
