Have installed Veeam Backup & Replication from the ISO media for v7.0 and have latest patch. Up and running fine. (Note: did not install a separate Full SQL edition, took version that came with B&R software)
Our security/network team are reporting to us from their vulnerability engine appliance scanner that the version of SQL detected ie MS SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 is EOL/Obsolete. And advise to obtain the latest SP for this version of SQL.
Q: Is it ok to apply the latest SP for MS SQL Server edition that comes with v7.0 installation media? I am being directed to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2527041 which shows MS SQL SERVER 2008 R2 SP3 released September 2014.
Just looking for clarification as cant find a KB article to confirm this.

Re: Veeam Backup Server - SQL 2008 R3 SP3 install OK?
Yes, feel free to apply SP3 to the SQL Server hosting Veeam database. Thanks!
