Hi I would like to check on the Direct SAN mode.
- I have done zoning in the SAN SW which I zone the veeam backup server and the HP 3PAR storage, however I cant see the VMFS datastore in the device manager in the Veeam Windows 2012 R2 disk management.
- Do I need to zone the ESXi host too to the Veeeam backup software?

Re: Veeam Direct SAN
You do not need to zone the ESXi host to the Veeam server.
To me it sounds like you forgot to present the VMFS LUN's on the HP 3PAR storage to the Veeam server.

Re: Veeam Direct SAN
Anders is correct. In order to setup direct SAN access your SAN LUNs should be mounted to the proxy server. You can find more info in our F.A.Q. section.
