Veeam does not recognize Exchange Server

Dear Sir or Madam

One of my clients uses a Windows Server SBS 2008 which is configured as a Domain Controller as well as an Exchange Server.
This VM is running on a VMware vSphere 6.0 host which is backed up by Veeam B&R 9.5.

The backup is working flawlessly. Although I just noticed that I can not restore Exchange data via Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange. Veeam does not recognize the Exchange Server running on this machine.
It recognizes the AD and the SQL servers and supplies the needed wizards to restore these items but the Exchange Server is not recognized.
Manually selecting Restore Application Items --> Microsoft Exchange doesn't work either.

How can this be and how can I fix this?

Exchange 2008 is not supported by Veeam Explorer for MS Exchange. Thanks.
