Hi Group,
Running Veeam 6.1 in an ESXi 5.0 environment.
We have 2 different geographic locations on 2 different networks connected via high speed VPN. Both sites run vpshere with virtual machines.
In site A, vcenter and veeam live here. This site has its own backup server for local veeam backups.
In site B, the vsphere hosts are connected to Site A's vcenter. This site also has its own backup server.
Although backups appear to be working normally at site B, I get a curious message that says the following in the veeam logs for each VM at site B.
"No available proxies are running on esxi management interface subnet. Using proxy from a different subnet, performance may be impacted"
In site B's backup job, I have selected a proxy from Site B. Should I instead be choosing a proxy from Site A? If so why?
Backups are different than replications in that in replications, you get to choose both a source and destination proxy unlike backups.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Veeam local backups but with VC server in different loca
You are doing everything right. Just ignore this message, since you are picking specific proxy manually anyway (this message is relevant only for when proxy selection is set to automatic selection). Thanks!
