Veeam replication and VMs with NVMe disks

Can Veeam replication via Cloud Connect protect source VMs (running on VMware) configured with NVMe disks? If so, do the recovered VMs have NVMe disks or are they converted to SCSI? The target environment is vCloud Director based.

I cannot find anything obvious in the Veeam documentation but did find a previous post that suggested the incrementals recovery points are problematic when replicating VMs with NVMe disks:
