Veeam replication locally

Post by CraigV »

Hi guys,

Quick question...is it possible for Veeam to replicate to another datastore locally on the same ESX cluster? Say an iSCSI target on something like a Western Digital DX4000 NAS or HP StoreEasy 1430?
While I know this can be done to another cluster, I'd like to knpw whether or not this is possible. Reason for this would be to ship the NAS off to a cold DR site and import those VMs into the DR site's cluster and fire up the servers.

Thanks!

Craig

Yep, it's possible to replicate VMs within one cluster, just make sure that you specify a different datastore at corresponding step of the wizard ("destination" -> "datastore"). Thanks.

Ok, thanks very much guys. This is going to work out very well...shows why with every single virtualisation proposal we do, we put Veeam in.

Thanks again! I will proceed to test this in our lab environment now.

Cheers,

Craig
