Veeam Restore Issue

Hi

Our domain controller is down and I am trying to restore files from the backup on our NAS, however when the final restore window loads I get this error:
Code: Select all
cannot retrieve mount result The system detected a possible attempt to comprimise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you. Failed to restore file from local backup, VFS link: [summary.xml]/Target file: [MemFs://frontend::CDataTransferCommandSet::RestoreText_{9e0c3a6a-fc9d-45f6-a928-587a62ca7653}].CHMOD.mask: [0] Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.RestoreText}.Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.RestoreText}. The system detected a possible attempt to comprimise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenicated you.

I am assuming this is because the DC is down? Please advise.

Did you try logging in with a local account on the veeam server and perform the restore?

Also the error you are getting seems to be a general error (for example https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/938457).
It could also be related to permissions or working with cached credentials.
Is the DNS still working as well?

Yes on as the local user, also used the extract with the prompt for a username and password from Veeam - doesn't work.

The error is a Veeam dialog rather than a Windows one.

For future readers - this case was resolved by re-entering credentials for the NAS box.
