Veeam Topology

Post by backup.master »

Hello all,

I am going to install a new Veeam 9.5u2 server on a Windows 2012r2 virtual machine.
The environment is a vSphere 6.5.

This will be an all in one server with the following rolls:
* Management
* Enterprise Manager
* Proxy
* Repository

There is no Windwos 2016 yet in the environment.
What will happen when such a server will be added?

Will I have to upgrade the Veeam server to Windows 2016 or just installing a new Windows 2016 Veeam proxy server will suffice?

Thanks,
Ron.

Hi Ronen,

Nothing should happen, you don't have to upgrade Veeam server or add new backup proxy with the latest OS to be able work with the 2016 Guest OSes.
Please review Platform support page in the User Guide for additional information. Thanks!
