Hi all,
I start a DR site (Veeam v12 in DR 2 Windows 2022 proxy in primary site) to replicate 10 Horizon VDI with Win10 OS.
After job creation I check, at the start, snapshot are regularly taken but after 2 seconds it be removed.
On replica log I can see these rows:
[19.05.2023 06:06:03.617] <23> Info [VimApi] Create snapshot, ref "vm-387023", name "VEEAM BACKUP TEMPORARY SNAPSHOT", description "Please do not delete this snapshot. It is being used by Veeam Backup.", memory "False", quiesce "False"
[19.05.2023 06:06:05.930] <23> Info [Soap] Snapshot VM 'vm-387023' was created. Ref: 'snapshot-390989'
[19.05.2023 06:06:05.930] <23> Info [Soap] Removing snapshot 'snapshot-390989'
[19.05.2023 06:06:05.932] <23> Info [VimApi] RemoveSnapshot, type "VirtualMachineSnapshot", ref "snapshot-390989", removeChildren "False"
[19.05.2023 06:06:08.228] <23> Info [MachineSemaphore] Releasing semaphore 'Global\DELETING_VI_SNAPSHOT_36e31bef-4775-4a2c-b269-0ae6fcfbb753_domain-c7'
[19.05.2023 06:06:08.228] <23> Info [MachineSemaphore] Semaphore 'Global\DELETING_VI_SNAPSHOT_36e31bef-4775-4a2c-b269-0ae6fcfbb753_domain-c7' released
For me and in this KB https://www.veeam.com/kb1790 correct task should be
VimApi --> Create snapshot request
Soap --> Snapshot created
------> backup or replica tasks
VimApi --> Remove snapshot request
Soap --> Snapshot removed
In vSphere environment the initiator is veeam user for both tasks. If I take a manual snapshot they was created regularly and I can remove manually too.
I'm going crazy without solve the issue.
Has anyone experience on Horizon replication?
I add another bit.... our customer has an active environment, with Veeam v11, and he has backup jobs and replica out of site without issue.
Thanks for your replies

Hi Andanet
If it works in v11, but not in v12, a support case should be opened to analyze this technical issue. Technical issues always require a support case, we cannot solve it over the forum.
Without a case number this topic may be deleted.
Thank you
Fabian

Re: Veeam v12 Replication for Horizon VDI.
Hi Fabian... I know forum isn't for issue solving... my question was about experience in Horizon VDI backup.
I'll ask to our customer to open a case.
Thanks.
