Veeam v8 Release
We are planning to upgrade our veeam 6.5 to 8.
When will the v8 B & R available for production?
Could you directly backup from Veeam (vm) and the output location is on SAN ?

Not sure whether I completely follow you, but VB&R server can be deployed on virtual machine and SAN device connected to it can be used as a target for backup jobs.Could you directly backup from Veeam (vm) and the output location is on SAN ?
Thanks.

Re: Veeam v8 Release
Please note that upgrade from 6.5 to 8.0 will most likely not be supported. You will need to be running 7.0 before you will be able to upgrade to 8.0. Thanks!

Re: Veeam v8 Release
I just read about V8 having Cloud Connect. How does that work with the WAN Accelerator? "WAN accelerators are dedicated components responsible for global data caching and data deduplication". You require one at both ends right?

Yes, you're correct. You will need WAN accelerators to make it work, there will be no difference in how WAN accelerators have to be deployed now and in v8.

Re: Veeam v8 Release
WAN acceleration is optional for Cloud Connect though, just like it is optional in v7.
