Veeam version 8 Automatic retry jobs not working

I am not sure if anyone has experience this issue but since I have updated B & R to version 8 last month there have been several issues. One in particular is none of my backup jobs do not automatically retry any failed jobs. I have reset the retry job just like the Veeam tech told me but that did not work. I have been going back and forth with Veeam and still no resolution. They believe this could be a bug in the software. If this was happening with just one job than that is one thing but this is happening with all of my jobs. Also I did update Veeam 8 to Patch 1 and still same issue. I just like to know if anyone is experiencing the same issue.

Hello,

If you scheduled a job to run automatically and checked "Retry failed VMs processing" checkbox, VBR should perform the retry.

Note that VBR does not perform automatic retry for jobs started manually by design. VBR does not perform a retry if a job session has finished with the Success or Warning status. During the job retry only those VMs that have failed will be processesed. If your case doesn`t apply to any of these cases, please contact Veeam Technical Support team.

I did, case number: # 00882190

But all they are working with are errors why the specific job fails, not why retry is not working.
All I'm wondering is why retry is not started after job is failing (not the reason why!).

Can you help me with this, please?

You can pay your engineer's attention specifically to the fact retry is not working. Btw, do you start the job manually or it is a scheduled run? Do you have any backup window specified in the job settings?

I did, unfortunatelly didn't help ;(
The job is started on schedule (I'm aware that manually started jobs won't retry on failed status).
No backup window is specified.

Let me outline that 14 days ago this has been working...

In Aljaž's case it was a permissions issue: the user under which the service was running did not have Veeam Backup Administrator role assigned to it.

Thank you! - I assigned the role(its an B&R internal role!) and now my automatic retries are working again!
