Veeams sql database(2008r2) on main sql VM

I m new to veeam, and have read a lot of pdf to start and build the best scenario for our needs. We have a small environment, 45 vm to backup, 2 sql 2008R2 STD (1 production/ 1 testing development), I understand that for using sql/exchange explorer for big databases (larger than 10GB) the sql express version is not enough, so we can set veeams database on one of our 2 sql. My doubt is about when you backup the sql vm (production or Testing) hosting the veeams own database, is this posible or does it has any problem?

You donˋt have to move your veeam database todo restores of big sql databases.
You can configure your sql std as a staging server and leave the veeam database on your sql express.

And if you decide to move the database, veeam do not have any problems with the backup of your sql servers
It‘s possible and supported.
The vm will be automatically moved to the end of the backup job processing after all other vms in the job are backuped.

I understood the sql stage process, but now I have the doubt about veeam explorer for microsoft exhange, in my case my database for echange is arround 25 GB, so does this explorer utilize the sql express on my veeam server or is any way to set an stage resource as per the sql. Thanks

Exchange has nothing todo with ms sql staging server. They are completly different products

You don‘t have todo anything, just start a application level restore for exchange items.
No SQL Server will be needed for this restore.
