vmware backup proxy

hello,
when i am trying to add our esx as backup proxy there is a problem.
i write the username and password and cannot login.
but when i add esx as a server to see the vms i use the same username and password and that works.
is it different the username?or should i add a new user in esx for backup offload?

Actually, ESX host can’t be added as a proxy server, the role of the proxy server can be played only by Windows-based machine.
