VMware Tools Warning
Hi there,
I upgraded our Veeam backup server to v7 a few days ago and so far so good, except for a couple of niggles. One annoyance is that it's started finishing with a warning on two of our Linux servers as they don't have the VMware tools package installed. They never have had it and don't need it hence why it's not installed - is there a way to turn these warnings off?
Thanks,
Phil

Re: VMware Tools Warning
Hello Phil,
Do you have VMware Tools quiescence option enabled for these VMs? Did you have this behavior in previous versions?
Thank you!

Hi,
No, quiescence is not enabled and 6.5 did not show a warning.
Cheers,
Phil

Re: VMware Tools Warning
Hmm...let me check it with our dev team, not sure there is a way to turn off these warning messages. Meanwhile, can you please send us job logs for review? Please post your ticket number once you do this.

No way to turn these messages off, however can you please contact our support team to investigate your log files? This would help us to understand the best way to address this behavior in the next updates.

[MERGED] Veeam 7.0 and VM Tools not installed
Hello,
I'm receiving warnings for a Veeam ESXi backup folder job for two VM's that do not (and cannot) have the VM Tools installed on them. Long story, but the vendor doesn't support the VM Tools being installed on the VM. Previously in 6.5 the job would complete without a warning email, but since our upgrade to 7.0 it completes the job successfully, but produces warning emails. Is there a way to suppress the warnings that are appearing for these two VM's?
Thanks.

The best strategy, indeed. It will be also appreciated, if you post your ticket number here for the convenience of future readers. Thanks.
