What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
I don't understand term legacy replica jobs in User guide for Veeam Backup and Replication version 7, page 146. It says here that these jobs are not supported anymore in v7 and not allowed for upgrade process too.
Can someone clarify this term? Are these jobs from version 6.5? Or even older?
Thanks.
Pavel.

Re: What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
The term legacy replication is related to replication jobs that were created with version 5.0 or earlier, and that used an obsolete mechanism. Such jobs will not be suppoted any longer. Thanks.

Re: What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
These jobs were using vrb files as restore points for VM replicas. Right now our replication job is leveraging VMware snapshot technology to create rollbacks.

[MERGED] Upgrade from B&R6.5 running on unsupported W2k3
Hi all
My B&R 6.5 32bit was running on Windows Server 2003 32 bit.
According kb1803, after point 12, B&R 6.5 64bit is now running on Windows Server 2012, and all is working fine.
Before running v7 upgrade, I would have to execute point 13: "Remove all legacy replica jobs (if present). Remove from inventory all replica VMs that were created with legacy replica jobs."
Does it mean all replica and replica jobs have to be re-created ? and replications have to be re-run with replica-mapping ?
Thanks indvance.

No, this refers to an obsolete replication jobs created in versions of Veeam B&R prior to v6 and not supported in v7.jp34 wrote:Does it mean all replica and replica jobs have to be re-created ? and replications have to be re-run with replica-mapping ?

Tom, if you've successfully upgraded to v7, don't worry about these jobs, since upgrade fails if there's at least one legacy replica job.

Re: What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
So, I'm *finally* upgrading from 6.5 to 7, and the install tells me there are "legacy replica" jobs.
That's fine, I don't mind deleting them, but how do I tell which ones are "legacy" and which ones are not?

How do you tell a Legacy Replica Job?
Go into Replicas > Ready and right click on each replica. The ones that have ".vrb" in the name field are legacy replicas.

Re: What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
Yep, ones that store restore points as .vrb files are considered "legacy", since current replication jobs store restore points in native VMware format. Thanks.

Re: What are "Legacy replica jobs"?
If you don't need these legacy jobs any more, and they are listed in the GUI, you can go to "Replica", right-click on them and select "Delete from disk". Thanks.
