Hopefully a really simple question I've overlooked. Just installed Veeam v8 and am attempting to add my vCenter server to the backup infrastructure. The wizard asks for a user account with local admin permissions on the server I am attempting to add. I assumed this meant on the Windows server that runs vCenter. I have a service account I want to use specifically for Veeam, so I added that account to the local Windows Administrators group on the vCenter server. However, I am greeted with an error about failing to login by SOAP, port 443, Permission to perform this operation was denied.
Am I giving this service account the correct permissions? Or am I suppose to add them in vCenter as well? Thanks for the help.

Re: What permissions are needed for account that adds vCente
Correct. If you're after granting granular permissions, check this document. Thanks.Or am I suppose to add them in vCenter as well?
