What to do when changing ESXi host name and IP address
Hello,
What operations are required when changing the ESXi host name and IP address?
Please tell me the operation in the following cases.
1. When registered to Veeam with IP address
2. When you are registered in Veeam by host name
3. When the changed ESXi is managed by vCenter and vCenter is registered in Veeam
Thank you.

Hi, in the first two cases, you need to change the IP address or hostname in Veeam B&R database via PowerShell and the jobs pointing to this host should continue normally. In the third case, no action is required.

Hi foggy,
I thought this kb for only vCenter Server.
From your answer, can this KB be used for ESXi hosts?
Thanks.

Can you confirm that in the third case, when you remove the host from vcenter and then re-add it with a different IP or by name (FQDN), no "disruption" is going to occur in the associated backup jobs and the VM MoRef ID are going to be preserved?
Thanks.

Ok. It seems that a bit of "disruption" is unavoidable.
