Why there is no Beta version available for download? When a person needs to restore a VM, a file, whatever, mostly he/she is in a hurry and have no time to post in forums and then ask help...bla bla bla...sem me pm...At this time it has passed more than 5 hours and I am still praying for someone to help.

I am now using 1.0.0.1921 on W10 Pro, but still getting this error - I really need to get my backups !! pLease help. I have tried making a bootable media using this version (1.0.0.1921), same error message.

"[TBD] Endpoint Beta version backups are not supported. Please move or remove them from target manually before you can proceed."

great thankyou at last I got the data back. Note : I had to make a Win7 VM, then install the version you linked me to the W7 VM, (still couldnt restore, gave errors)so I then built a recovery ISO, then booted the VM with the recovery ISO and was able to restore the data from a network location to a local virtual HDD on the VM. what a nightmare - I assume the full version now wont make people jump through such hoops to restore data. Then I had to copy the data back from the VM to my new W10 PC.

You are welcome. Starting from the first release – backup files produced by any version of the VEB are “restorable” by any version of the Endpoint.

It would be nice that pre-release version could be downloaded though only restore backups, and not create them. There are people who didn't know or was able to upgrade to the final version and now they need a version that is not available to recover their data.

Hello Dima,

Thank you so much for the links, unfortunately, beta version stops installing during services startup, unable to perform file level restore as the service fails to install and thus to start.

I gathered this from the Event Viewer.

UPDATE:

Seemed like previous installations of Veeam (latest version) did create a SQL instance on C:\Windows\System32\... and uninstalling did not remove it quite entirely.

I saw this when I tried deleting all Veeam entries from Registry.

In case anyone encounters the same issue as me, manually remove all entries of Veeam on Registry, delete the instance folder of Veeam database under C:\Windows\System32\... (exact path will be shown on Registry when you perform your research) and reboot your machine.

Re-install your beta version and voila, all works as charm!

I want to restore a backup taken with the beta version of Veeam Endpoint Backup.
I'm getting the error: Restoring backups created with pre-release versions of Veeam Endpoint Backup is not supported.
Can I somewhere download the beta version? Or is there a workaround for this?
I only need to restore a few files. Not the whole computer.
