Case #07296341 — Unstructured Data Archive Tier not appearing in "Backups" section of console.
Hi all,
last month our organization requested Backup operations take over responsibility for CIFS file shares from our Storage team (NetApp). We created the backup jobs successfully but had an issue wrapping our minds around our Capacity tier (Azure BLOB) is considered an Archive tier when dealing with unstructured data. Once over that hurdle we presented our work to our Veeam Customer Success representatives during a Q & A session and the Engineer on the call became concerned that the B & R Console did not show the unstructured data. He suggested that we contact Veeam support (see above case). Support confirmed the behavior and determined this is expected behavior? At present our Performance and Archive have the same retention (to verify costs) and we will eventually extend retention in the Archive tier. Support reasons that if we had longer retention in the Archive we should see the information we believe is missing.
I was able to confirm that there is a matching quantity of data in our Archive storage repo as there is in our on-premises Performance tier repo and by attempting a delete operation we confirmed immutability in the Azure storage account. It would be nice to have this information visible in the B & R Console and via VeeamOne.
Thanks,
Gene

Re: Feature Request - Unstructured Data Archive Display
Hi Gene,
Thanks for sharing the case and the details.
You can see archived file versions only if you start a recovery from a backup on "Disk", "object storage" and then choose "All Time".
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... om-archive
Just a small note, keep in mind that with Unstructured Data backups, we have Backup, Archive, and Secondary repositories for the unstructured data backups; it's a bit pedantic, but just to avoid confusion since Performance/Archive tier like discussed is about Scale-out Backup Repositories and Capacity/Archive tier, which just might introduce confusion when discussing it.
Agreed that some additional VeeamOne reports for this would be great, and the points on UI elements are noted and will be discussed.
Thanks!
