I was wondering if there's any way to move backup data between jobs. At the moment we configured most of our shares in a single backup job just to get backups running on it. However we are still in the process of determining different use cases, if the data in the share needs to be retained long term or short term, if we need it in a second location, if we want it in the cloud, etc.
So we're in the process of configuring new jobs to meet these requirements, but my question is regarding if there's any way to move the existing backup data for individual shares from one job to another, or is the only way to add the share to the new job, which would trigger a new full, then remove the share from the old job and let the backup data age out?

Re: Moving Backup Data Between Jobs
Hello Randall,
Unfortunately it's not possible to partially move backup files associated with specific file shares between jobs but you can move entire backup to a new job with the help of manual mapping. However, you can manually copy all the backup files associated with one backup job to a new repository, create a new job and hit map backup in the wizard. Thanks!
