restore problem - to orginal location.

Post by maxilee »

Hi.
I'm testing this plugin with okvm 4.5.
it is a labo environment.

connected from VBR to okvm engine , deployed proxy.
backup work ok - so far :)
but I've got problem with restore of VMs.
when I've started to restore to original location there is a question about remove old VM - ok , understand that.
the process of restore starts and in 3rd step there is info about removing VM ,
and in next step there is error :

Code: Select all

15.04.2024 14:21:25 Error test-vm1 : The RestoreVmConfig operation failed. Status: GeneralError; Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
of course destination VM is removed from hypervisor and next attempts of restore to original location also fails.

but restore the same backup as new VM , but nothing changed in wizard ( name, cluster , storage domain ) - works fine.

I've create case to support but maybe someone here know how to restore to original location ?

Hi.
with support help - problem solved.
we ( my and support team ) can't reproduce error in our labs any more.
but problem was related to NIC.
after creating new backup of source VM - all restores "to original location" are successful.
