Just noticed yesterday, upgrading my home lab to 12.3.1.1139 than support for BTRFS storage seems to have been dropped.
Doc (now?) says it's unsupported and backup and restore no longer works, but it has been working since the first beta release of Veeam backup for Proxmox.
21.03.2025 21:30:18 :: Disk Sata0 has been skipped due to unsupported storage type (iscsi/iscsidirect/btrfs)
Now I'm reverting to 12.3.0.310 for this.
Does someone know when BTRFS will be supported again? I don't get why Veeam implements breaking changes like this in a security patch.
Actually BTRFS has never been supported and the limitation exists since day one. I can't say why it worked for you before, or if a check was implemented with the latest release. But regardless of the version, it's not supported.

That's sad, from our test BTRFS works way better than any other file system (except ceph) with Proxmox.
