Feature request: Guest processing

Post by zahradnik »

Currenty there are no options to backup SQL Servers or at least to run scripts pre, post backup.
I am aware that you are now supporting way too many hypervisors to support these advanced features on all of them, so what I am asking is whether this could be achieved "agent based" way.
Currently the agent is too standalone - Jobs, Notifications are configured there, which requires Backup admin to access all servers individually. For guest processing I can imagine the same scenario - VBR will just trigger remote Agent task to process eg. Log backups.

Hi,

Would you provide more details?

SQL - is it MS or MySQL? Windows-based on Linux-based?

Thanks!

+1 for application-aware processing on OLVM so that Oracle databases can be backed up as part of the VM-backup process. The only reason many customers are running OLVM is because of Oracle Database licensing rules. That means there's a big chance the VM's on OLVM are running databases and that's one of the big reasons why backup is needed in the first place.

Without application-aware processing the OLVM integration i Veeam is useless to us unfortunately :(
