Azure Backups - Repository Location Strategy

Post by gingerdazza »

What are the best ways of adhering to 3-2-1 rule in Veeam for Azure? For instance,
  • if you backup into a repo in the same region, what's the recommended way to get another copy somewhere else? (i.e. to another region - perhaps have two repos or single repo with GRS repo?)...
  • what's the best ways to get "another media" included in Azure?

Hi,

The best way would probably be to use backup copy jobs from Veeam B&R to take your backups completely offsite. Alternatively, consider using the immutability option to "protect" your backups.

Thanks!

I would just use GRS with immutability and call it a day. If you really want additional copies outside of the Azure ecosystem, drop a VBR and add copy jobs to wherever you like as Vitaliy explained above.
