This is primarily VBAZ but I agree it could equally be VBR
On the VBAZ Console
Configuration -> Settings -> Configuration Backup
VBAZ was previously set to backup daily the configuration to an Azure repository
VBAZ was added to Veeam Backup and Replication VBR to update it.
On the VBAZ console the setting says it 'is running in managed mode. To backup the configuration of this appliance , use the the Veeam Backup & Replication console'
It 'appears' the configuration of VBAZ can only be saved to the VBR default backup repository, namely on the local drives of the Windows VBR server
How do I switch where the VBAZ configuration is saved in VBR ?
How do I change the number of days the configuration is backed up ?
Our preference would be to store it in cloud based Immutable storage.
Our Windows VBR server is also an Azure VM in the same tenant and subscription as the VBAZ which is also backed up by VBAZ
It feels like we have introduced another point of failure for a disaster recovery scenario.
And possibly one that would be impossible to recover from to restore VBR then VBAZ. But first we would need to restore VBAZ.
I have currently added the VBR and VBAZ servers to the Azure Backup Centre. Doesn't seem ideal.
Hope that makes sense.
What are others doing ?
