backup issues on Hyper-V

Hello,

Does this mean we should not be using Veeam Backup & Replication (Community Edition) to backup VMs hosted on a Hyper-V server built on Intel VROC (NVME SSDs)?

Re: [V13] Software RAID support

Hello,
no, because that's a different scenario. Veeam Backup & Replication does not care what hypervisor hardware is used.

This topic is about the Veeam Software / Infrastructure Appliance installed on physical hardware.

Best regards

Hello,

We are facing a severe issue while running Veeam backups of VMs on a Hyper-V server built using NVME SSDs in a VROC.

I verified the NVME SSD performance to be as advertised as well. But when a Backup job starts, in some time, all VMs on the host hang (no RDP, no response). Even the host becomes unresponsive. We are left with no option but to hard power reset.

It seemed like a similar scenario. Can you please tell me the right way to troubleshoot this / right place to post it?

Hello,
I split your question from the other thread as it has nothing to do with the topic.

Random guess: you installed Veeam Backup & Replication in the Hyper-V management partition which can cause issues and is not recommended / known to cause issues.

Beyond that... it sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic. Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators. If you like to ask questions about technical issues without a support case, then you can try https://community.veeam.com/

Best regards,
Hannes
