Backup to Multiple RDS cartridges

I have a single backup job that backs up several VM's (hyper-v) to an RDS drive (RDS backup cartridges).

Whenever I change the cartridge I get 'backup failed' for the scheduled backup job.

The temporary fix is to run a manual 'daily full' backup.

What's the best way to configure this? Separate backup jobs per cartridge?
