Hi All,
Hows is everyone replicating to a DR location? We have just bought Veeam and find it brilliant compressing 13Tb of Hyper-V VMs to just over 3Tb! We then use Backup Exec to backup to tape.
We have Dell Equallogic SANs and we intend to use 3 in a DR location with a 100Mb MPLS link.
The options we have so far is:
Use Equallogic Replication of raw volumes.
Use Veeam Replication.
Use Hyper-V replica now we are using Server 2012.

Re: Best Way to replicate backups
Hi Steve,
There are different pros and cons of each replication type. For example, if you take a look a this topic you will see the difference between Veeam and Hyper-V replication mechanisms > Hyper-V 2012 R3 Replica vs Veeam Off-Host Replication.
As to the SAN replication option, then there is another existing topic that highlights all the facts you should pay attention to while running this type of VM protection > SAN volume replication vs Veeam backup replication
Hope this helps!
