Cannot do HvPrepareSnapshot - backup not happening
Hyper-V 2012 R2 setup
Veeam 7.0.0.771 installed on VM Server 2012 R2 Std
Cluster Hyper-V with CSV (dedicated iSCSI SAN)
Backup repository - Windows Server on LAN with lots of disk space
Create simple backup job, which never happens.
In the log I see:
VM host 'SP-SR1-VHOST02' is locked by creation of another snapshot by task 'e67c5401-e811-4237-be1e-b5b5d99f35f2'
[12.01.2014 21:14:41] <10> Info [RTS] [Task '7a7470ab-a128-4332-b251-1d613d83be61'] Unable to allocate on-host proxy : One or more volumes is locked by creation of another snapshot (by task: e67c5401-e811-4237-be1e-b5b5d99f35f2)
Stopping the job takes over 5 hours
Reports gives:
Unable to subscribe to guest processing components: Cannot do HvPrepareSnapshot. Error: Thread was being aborted.
Unable to create snapshot (Microsoft CSV Shadow Copy Provider) (mode: Veeam application-aware processing). Details: Thread was being aborted.
Operation was canceled by user
Am I missing something obvious?
Seb

Re: Cannot do HvPrepareSnapshot - backup not happening
Can you confirm that there is no snapshot activity at that time of backup, as, according to the log, it is the root cause? Also, be aware that the team behind this community can help you with debug logs analyzing, so, you'd better contact our support team with this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, there is nothing else running on this (or any other HV host)
I realize that I can contact support, but I might be missing something obvious (do not think so in that case)

Re: Cannot do HvPrepareSnapshot - backup not happening
Neither can I remember similar case from the top of my head, nor the brief search suggests anything. So, the best way would be to open a case, indeed.I realize that I can contact support, but I might be missing something obvious (do not think so in that case)
Thanks.

Markus, we cannot track the solution, since the OP hasn't shared his case ID. Please contact technical support directly.
