Dedup on Primary Storage
Does anyone do Dedup on their primary storage hosting vm's? We have had several cluster evictions in the past few months during our backup window and I am wondering if this may be caused by the added strain of Veeam having to rehydrate the blocks during backup that the primary storage array dedups. The Netapp dedup jobs run outside of the backup window.

Re: Dedup on Primary Storage
Hi Collin,
There are pros and cons of using deduplication on the primary storage, please take a look at these two articles for further reading:

http://searchstorage.techtarget.com/pod ... l-desktops
If we are talking about Windows Server 2012 deduplication, then I've seen that it is not recommended to run production VMs from a Windows Server 2012 dedupe volume: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/For ... b1ea8a3203
Hope this helps!
