Disk 1 layout change detected, resetting changed block tracking for all volumes on this disk

Hi,

We have a virtual server that has several TB disk, and we needed to extend this virtual disk, and now when we run the backup it say

"Disk 1 layout change detected, resetting changed block tracking for all volumes on this disk "

Now it seems like the system does a complete full backup, and does not only backup the changed parts, we had to stop the job since it will fail because of disk will be full. Why does the system need to take a complete full backup ?

• The machine has Veeam Volume CT Driver (10.0.0.5005).
  It is volume level backup

Hello! It won't do a full backup. What it will do is read the entire disk to determine changed blocks. This is the only way to do an incremental backup without changed blocks tracking data available. Thanks!
