Don't see recently modified files in repository, but backups successful?

Post by daystrom »

This is a puzzle - veem B&R reports that every night it is successfully backing up two hyper-v vms to the default backup repository. That repository is the only one, on that server it's e:\backup. But there are no files in that directory or any of it'd contained directories that are modified recently. What am I missing? It's set up to use On-Host backup, which I think is the correct setting for an attached external hdd?

Hello,
asking the other way round: is restore working? :-)

there must be backup files. You can see that in home -> backups -> disk -> job name -> properties of the VM -> Folder (top right)

you want to use on-host backup. that's correct. But this has nothing to do with external hdds.

I suggest to have a look on the evaluation guide

Best regards,
Hannes

Thank you Hannes, you're correct, the files are in the location. Not sure how I missed them, drive etc is where I was looking.

I do have issues creating the recovery media on another pc, but I've made a separate post about that.
