Failed to get VM's IP addresses

Post by wise »

Hallo,

I have the same problem as descriped in this topic: http://forums.veeam.com/microsoft-hyper ... 29716.html

When I test the credentials for Guest-File-Indexing I receive the error "Failed to get VM's IP addresses.".
What can I do?

My environment:
* single Hyper-V Host based on Windows Server 2012 R2
* Virtual Mashine with Ubuntu 14.4.3LTS and installed integrated Tools and all options in VM Konfiguration "Integration Services" are aktivated.

output from lsmod | grep -i "hv_" on the VM:

Code: Select all

hv_netvsc 36864 0
hv_utils 20480 0
hv_storvsc 20480 5
hv_vmbus 61440 7 hyperv_keyboard,hv_netvsc,hid_hyperv,hv_utils,hyperv_fb,hv_storvsc
Kind Regards

I think the Problem is, that it seams Ubuntu doesn't support this option :(
The Integrationservices are installed and functional. The communication with the NIC in HyperV network Info is "OK". But there is no information about the IP Adress on this place:

The Problem would be solved if it is possible to set the IP in Veeam manualy.
Maybe somebody knows how to do that?

Kind regards

The Hyper-V function that facilities getting a VM's IP is called "Key Value Pair"

This page from Microsoft's site has some notes on how to set this up for Ubuntu
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lib ... 31029.aspx

It looks like the package you need is named hv-kvp-daemon-init
