So, I've got a small Hyper-V cluster w/o shared storage. We're replicating all VMs on server #1 to server #2. Now it's time to do some maintenance on server #1, so I want to fail over to the replicas on server #2. I just did so and noticed that Veeam v7 just switches to the latest point of replica. Is there a way to have it first sync the data over to the replica and then power-on the replica? I've got a rather big file server with active users and I do not want to lose data.
I noticed that there's a planned fail-over option in v8, but it looks like there's no such thing in v7, right?
Thanks,
loelly

Correct, planned failover is what you really need here. Since it was first introduced in v8, you can either upgrade to be able to use it, or perform the required operations manually - i.e. turn off the original VMs and trigger another replication cycle to sync the latest changes prior to failing over.
