FR: RGB selectable colortheme and exact time for periodic schedule
Hello,
I'd like to ask for the following feature requests, sorry if redundant:
1. To be able to select the colortheme not just by a few colors but by RGB (killerfeature, obviously... )
2. When you want to have a job being scheduled periodically eg. hours it would be nice if you could have start
it REALLY not just to start it the minute you want to have it but also to keep the periodic schedule.
If for instance you want to have it run in 4 hours schedules starting at 0900 exactly and have the periodic schedules
run until latest 2200h by leveraging the Backup Window option you would expect the outcome
- that the job starts at 0900 first, at 1300 second, at 1700h third and at 2100h fourth time
- but not that in reality it starts at 0900 first, at 1200h second and at 1600h third time
You now might say that this behaviour is described in the user guide - well, I'd say yes and no.
At least this is on the one hand not what you would expect by the GUI settings and on the other hand the description here in the user guide is rather unclear.
Regards!

#2 can be done by scheduling the backup to run every hour, and then using the backup window to control which hours the backup starts.

Only as long as this wouldn't kill a running job which might be still running in the last hour(s).
So that's only a workaround.

Another workaround is to use Windows Task Scheduler to trigger the job at the required times.

Yep, I know that but this is an out-of-band solution not visible inside VBR.
You could also use PowerShell and REST (I guess) but this is also just a workaround.

Interested how you wanna achieve your porposed solution as the backup window setting only become active when you select "Terminate job if it exceeds ..."?

He was referring to the scheduling option when using periodic scheduling, not the overall backup window/termination option, such as below:
